Introduction

SyncMyPortable™ is a Windows®-based add-in utility for iTunes® that allows you to synchronize the music and videos you have stored in iTunes playlists with virtually any portable audio device that can be accessed as a Mass Storage Device (e.g. a device that appears as a drive letter in Windows Explorer/My Computer).

Pretty much any mobile phone, PDA, Pocket PC, DAP, portable MP3 music player, etc. that plugs into a USB or FireWire port on your computer (or has a removable memory card that can be inserted into a card reader/writer) will work with SyncMyPortable.

SyncMyPortable was developed by The Office Maven, and is distributed as shareware. The registered version includes no nag screens or capability limits, and entitles you to free technical support and free incremental program updates for a period of one year.

Thanks in advance for registering!

What Can SyncMyPortable Do?

In our opinion, iTunes is one of the best music organizers on the market today (and it’s FREE too!). Unfortunately, iTunes doesn’t directly support the synchronization of your music with a Mass Storage Device (MSD). This means that there is no way of synchronizing your portable audio devices (mobile phones, PDA’s, DAP’s, portable MP3 music players, Sony PlayStation® Portables, etc.) with the music you have stored in iTunes. Fortunately, SyncMyPortable can come to the rescue and solve this problem for you. With SyncMyPortable, you can synchronize all of your portable audio devices with iTunes just as if they were an iPod® or an iTunes Mobile Phone (A.K.A. ROKR®)!

Besides being able to just copy music from iTunes playlists onto your portable audio device, SyncMyPortable has a whole bounty of other great features which allow you to:

·         Synchronize your portable audio device with both music AND videos (including podcasts and audiobooks).

·         Autofill your portable audio device with a random mix of music from any iTunes playlist.

·         Drag-n-drop audio and video tracks directly onto your portable audio device from within iTunes.

·         Specify the exact location on your portable audio device where your music and video files are to be stored.

·         Specify exactly how much of the disk space available on your portable audio device you want to use for music and video storage vs. data storage.

·         Properly arrange and name your music and videos to take full advantage of your music/media player’s Artists, Tracks, and Videos organizational structure.

·         Organize your music by a multitude of categories such as playlist, genre, artist, album, artist & album, year, rating, composer, grouping, etc.

·         Group songs that are part of a compilation album by the album’s title instead of separating them all out by their individual artists.

·         Group audiobooks (including Audible.com audible books) by their artist/author or album/book name instead of separating them all out by their individual artist/author.

·         Recognize audio files (MP3, M4A, etc.) that have their genre set to “Audiobook”, or their “Remember playback position” option enabled in iTunes, as audiobooks.

·         Group podcast episodes by their podcast name instead of separating them all out by their individual artists.

·         Send only those podcast episodes to your portable audio device that match your chosen criteria (such as all episodes, only checked episodes, only unplayed episodes, or only those episodes added to iTunes within the last day, week, month, quarter, or year).

·         Send audio and/or video files to your portable device in a random order until all of the available free space on the device is filled up.

·         Select exactly which iTunes playlists you want to synchronize or copy.

·         Prioritize the order in which your playlists are synchronized or copied.

·         Perform on-the-fly conversion of your audio files into your desired compressed audio format (MPEG/MP3 or AAC/M4A).

·         Perform on-the-fly conversion of your audio files to match your desired bit rate and/or sample rate level.

·         Add album artwork (including the new iTunes v7 downloaded album artwork) as a separate JPEG image to the audio file’s album folder, or actually embed it within the audio files themselves.

·         Standardize album artwork within MP3 files for proper display on most MP3 players.

·         Set up album artwork for proper display on Windows Media Player Mobile edition.

·         Remove artwork from your audio files before sending them to your portable audio device in order to conserve valuable disk space on the device.

·         Generate a M3U playlist for all audio files and all playlists copied to or synchronized with your Mass Storage Device.

·         Control which audio and/or video file types are sent to your portable device.

·         Create settings profiles for all of your different portable audio devices and switch between the on-the-fly.
